Well I figured I would have to wait until Sunday to share the exciting news, since Anthony hasn't made his official announcement at Six Forks yet. I mentioned this to him tonight and he said not to worry about that. Besides, at church tonight everyone was asking how our trip went, so they won't be too surprised on Sunday.
Anyway, we're moving to Smithville, TN.
We spent this past weekend there. On Saturday Anthony had a rehearsal with the choir and then we ate lunch with the choir members and deacons. Saturday evening they had a potluck dinner so the church could meet us. Sunday morning Anthony led worship. After the service they had us leave so they could vote. While we waited I told Anthony I felt like we were on Survivor or something, hoping that we got enough votes to stay in the game. Needless to say he got enough votes, making him the new Music Minister at First Baptist Church.
We are tentatively planning on heading out there June 7 with hopes of closing on our house June 8. The first time we went out there one of the men in the church (who is a real estate agent) took us around to see some houses. We found one that we really liked and put an offer in on it a couple of weeks ago. We are still finalizing some details but hopeful that the June 8th closing will fall into place.
We plan to spend several days fixing the house up and hopefully getting the walls painted before we fly back to NC to get our stuff. We should be living there permanently by June 16 or maybe even sooner. This will give us about 7 weeks to unpack before our little guy joins our family in August. I think it's going to be a busy summer :)
We feel so blessed right now. The Lord has opened doors and surprised us in so many ways as we've gone through this process. We are thankful to have it behind us and eager to begin this new adventure.
Smithville is about an hour and a half outside of Nashville, so if you're ever in the area feel free to stop by. We'll have a guest bedroom that will hopefully have some beds in it.
