More of what Graham says

Graham continues to keep us laughing with the things he comes up with. These two conversations show you a little of what we need to work on-

He was touching things in Walmart-

M: Say, "I will not be impulsive."

G: I will not be good.

-----

M: Say, "Let us do good to one another."

G: Let us to good to ourselves.

-----

We stayed home from church because we were sick-

M: Oh, we forgot to go to church today!

G: (thinking for a minute)... oh, well!

More of What Graham Says

We hear this several times a day-

"Guess what?"

"I love you!"

-----

I point out the antlers on the car parked next to us. He was not impressed. He said-

"The letter F?"

-----

A cart was right next to the van so I pushed our cart into it and had G hop out. He informed me-

"You are not a man. The man does that."

He was referring to the man that pushes all of the carts back to the store.

-----

"I'm so excited that Julia is here."

-----

He enjoyed one song in particular on the listening cd for the Christmas musical at church. I asked him to sing it for me. He started and then said,

"no, no. First the men sing like this (really low) and then it goes like this."

-----

"I miss GG and G-Bob!"

The Things Graham Says

"Daddy, can you guess what I have in my hand? It's long, and has a bucket, and wheels, and is noisy, and big. Can you guess, dad? Can you guess what the backhoe is?"

------

While looking at pictures of baby mommy and baby daddy we found one with me in overalls that had my name on it. I asked him what it said if it had my name on it.

G: Mommy!

M: No. What is my real name? J-

G: Jack... Jack Mommy!

-------

G: I can't get it (referring to whatever I asked him to get) because my legs are broken.

M: How did they break?

G: Reed broke them with a knife.

This conversation happened one morning before Reed even woke up so he had not seen him since the night before. Thankfully we don't let Reed play with knives so I knew this wasn't true. That and the fact that his legs weren't broken to begin with!

-------

"Mommy. why are you putting finger socks (meaning gloves) on Reed?"

------

After 6 + hours in the car:

"My butt hurts!"

------

He says "I can't" a lot (especially with regards to using the toilet) so we've been working on Philippians 4:13 "I can do all things in Christ Jesus." One day while in the bathroom I gave him a taste of what he does and said I couldn't do it. His response:

"Yes you can. You can do all things because Jesus loves and you can do it!"

-------

While on the hay ride:

G: God will help me when I'm scared.

M: Yes. You were scared about getting on the trailer weren't you?

G: Yes. Where is God?

M: He's everywhere. He's right here with us.

G: Does he live in my heart?

M: I hope He will someday soon!

From Graham's Mouth

Saturday morning G was sitting at the table and I was in the kitchen. He said-

"I'm happy today because Grandma and Grandpa are here."

Turning towards the living room-

"I love you Grandpa"

Melt my heart. The child can be so sweet all on his own sometimes.

We love you Grandma and Grandpa.
Thanks for driving all the way here to see us!!

He is listening

While sitting at the table Graham opened one of the 5 credit card offers we received in the mail today. He proceeded to read the papers to me.

One page said, "Obey your mommy and daddy."

Another one said, "Jesus Christ died for us."

It's so refreshing to know that he really is listening and what better truths for him to be recalling than verses of scripture!

More of what Graham says

Graham was asking about the diaper rash cream he found in Reed's room. I told him he used some when he was a baby. He responded by saying he would use it:

"When I was a baby last time in a few minutes."

He knows lots of time phrases but still needs to work on using them correctly!

-------

Anthony and I were standing in the hallway having a special moment- he was hugging me thanking me for straightening up the house. Since these moments are few and far between because we are so busy, I was trying to savor it. It ended abruptly with Graham walking up saying,

"Look at this booger Mommy!"
-------

After picking him up from school he still asks:

"Is there a new present for me at home?"

Hopefully with Reed's birthday only a few days away he will stop thinking about receiving gifts himself.

-------

One night at dinner he had a crust of bread, his fork, and a mushroom. He said,

"watch this and the mushroom will go on my plate."

That's right he turned it into a catapult. His creativity never ceases to amaze me and always leaves me questioning why we buy him toys since the simplest things entertain him just as much as the toys were buy him!

-------

I helped with Mission Friends tonight. There were several funny things that he said/did during the 45 minutes we were there.

He got up in the middle of the lesson and went over to the carpet. I asked him to come sit back down but he said,

"no I need to do some push-ups right now."

(It did make me wonder if this is just little boy behavior or if his disinterest in sitting at the table and coloring is something to be concerned about but anyway)

---

In two separate instances on the playground he was throwing mulch. The first time he informed me it was a "slingshot" and the second time it was a "fireball." In both cases I believe he was the monster trying to catch the other children.

---

While we were walking in from the playground Graham said,

"now can we... (thinking of the word)... can we have refreshments when we get inside?"
