Well, you never know what a day may bring. Tuesday started out normal and included me doing several loads of laundry. When I went in to put the clothes in the dryer I noticed water on the floor. I checked the hoses behind it and it didn't appear to be leaking. I then noticed a smell coming from the bathroom and found the "explosion." Apparently the pipes backed up into themselves and nasty sludge was in the toilet. Upon further investigation I found that the same had happened in the other toilet as well as the shower and bathtub. This was quite the shocker since we had a plumber out here last week to clean the pipes and they never did this.
We quickly made phone calls trying to find someone to come look at the situation and eventually found someone to came yesterday morning.
This is was the third time around with the plumbing issue and we've known that we would need to eventually replace all the pipes under the house because they are galvanized and not pvc piping. There are also other issues with the angles that they are flowing at so, it needs to be completely overhauled. I never thought we would have to look into doing it this soon, let alone with the current status of our baby.
We're currently waiting on our warrenty company to give us the go ahead to have the work done which is worth the wait because they will pay for it. The plumber who came yesterday was able to temporarily fix the problem, but with every flush of the toilet or use of the sink or shower, I think that it is about the backup. The icing on the cake is that my mom and sister are now here, so we've doubled the amount of people living in the house and are really praying that the Lord keeps it flowing until the pipes can be replaced. Keep this in prayer for us. We had to spend Tuesday night at a friend's house and it would be nice to not have to go that route while family is in town!!

Oh wow! Isn't home ownership grand? Ever wish you were back at your apt? :) I did find this post a bit funny.
