In a previous post I showed pictures of our neighbor's trees. I think he was trimming them and not trying to get rid of them. Now that the leaves have fallen off of most of the trees, I've noticed that several other yards with shorter maple trees look like his. If this is really the case, then we might consider doing this to our maples.
I was upset about this at first and now we are considering following along. Go figure.
