Rake the leaves and keep the trees

The piles in the pictures below are branches from the trees that our neighbors cut down. One of the reasons we chose this house was the neighborhood which includes many mature trees. We were very sad to see the trees go, but I guess they got tired of the all of the leaves. I know I would rather rake the leaves and keep the trees.
