I started giving him water from my cup as well as with a straw when we were in FL and now he gets excited whenever I have a cup in my hand. I've put water in his sippy cup but he prefers to chew on the lid instead of drinking the water. If he can learn to walk around without spilling then we might skip the sippy cup altogether (I know, I know- wishful thinking)!!
