Project 52: Date Nights

On Prayer of Hannah last week, I read about:

It is hosted by www.simplymodernmom.com.  The goal is to set aside time each week as a date night.  You come up with different ideas and then post on your blog what you do each week and link back to her blog.  She has been doing it since the beginning of the year so we are a little late, but it's never too late to start and I know this is something we need.  We both tend to do our own thing each night after the boys are in bed.  As Anthony affirmed on our first date this week, I'm good at watching tv and he is good at playing video games, so dedicated time together will be good for us.  I'm really excited about some of the ideas other have come up with.  For our first date I emailed this invitation to him:

Julia was in town so we had a babysitter in place.  The plan was to take Subway and eat by the water while I introduced him to the Project 52: Date Night and we worked on our pledge.  We ended up going to a Chinese restaurant, then to Verizon to discuss cell phone options, and browsing Walmart for R's Halloween costume.  We drove to a random parking at the hospital across the street to work on the pledge.  It was time ALONE together, so what if it didn't follow the plan (and does anything ever follow "the plan").

Here's our pledge:

I'm planning on printing it as a 4 x 6 picture for us to each sign and place a copy in our Bible's so we had the daily reminder.

Sounds like it was a fun way to start your project 52 ~ even if it didn't go according to plan :)
I like your idea about printing the pledge as a photo for a visual reminder.

I just read about this the other night too. Sounds like a must for us!
