We're out of the boat

This morning I woke up thinking about Matthew 14:22-33 which tells about Jesus walking on water and Peter then asking Christ to command him to walk on the water. As Peter is walking on the water he starts to focus on the wind, becomes afraid, and then starts to sink. Jesus saves him immediately after he asks for help, but questions why he had little faith and doubted.

Yesterday we officially stepped out of the boat. The teachers at school had to turn in their intent forms on their plans for the 2007-2008 school year. Anthony and I have always agreed that whenever we had children that I would stay home with them and since our little one will be coming three weeks after the new school year starts, we believe that not returning is best for us and the students I would have taught.

This is a big step of faith on both of our parts because as of right now Anthony only works part time at our church. It is my prayer that we will be faithful to keep our eyes on Jesus and to trust Him with the details of what happens next. I'm sure there will be moments when we'll focus on the "winds" around us, begin to fear, and subsequently start to sink, but I know He will be there to immediately save us when we ask for His help. What peace we can have from trusting in Him.

We stepped out on limb last year at FA too, only my husband didn't have a job at all. We were without pay for two months. But, just after our daughter's birth he got a job and we moved (she was 3 weeks old). We are truly blessed and I wouldn't trade being a stay-at-home mom for the world! You are making a wonderful decision and the Lord will bless you I'm sure!
