Today's Message

Today's message at church was on Luke 22:39-44 and specifically dealt with verse 42:

"Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."

Mark shared with us that the cup referred to the wrath of God and followed with several verses that remind us that as believers in Christ we don't have to face it. In the Chronological Bible reading for this week (largely in Numbers), we saw a lot of God's wrath taken out on the children of Israel that questioned what God was doing. His wrath is real and what a wonderful, awesome truth it is that Christ was willing to give up His own will and go to the cross and face the wrath that we deserve.

The message was followed with the Lord's Supper where we drank from the cup, but because of what Christ did, believers can now drink from the cup of life.
