12, 13, & 14 Months Old

He's almost 14 months old, so it's time to finally post his 12 month picture and the update. It's a three for one deal!

The best shot I could get.
He would NOT look at the camera that day.
Most shots had him hanging over the side of the couch looking at the lamb he threw on the floor!

12 Months of Reed and his Jesus Loves Me Lamb

These pics start with 2 days old and end with 11 months.
And yes, they are still hanging up in the kitchen along with the Happy Birthday banner.
I guess I'll get to take it down in time to hang Christmas cards up!

The things he was/is doing over the last months:

*Started walking full time at the beginning of Oct. Now he runs and is starting to climb on things. He loves climbing stairs and insists on walking up. He doesn't have the balance and coordination for that yet so its good I'm there to catch him!

*He says Mommy, Daddy, uh-oh, hi (to almost everyone in the store :), all done, baby, Bible, and GG. We're still working regularly on Graham but no luck yet. He smiles when I sign things to him but mostly prefers to grunt.

*Loves to sit in our lap when we sit on the floor. He backs up, has learned not to miss our laps, and swings his legs once he sits.

*He is living up to his name and as started to enjoy "reading" books.

*He is still a picky eater, although I think he has been introduced to table food sooner than G was, so his refusal to eat foods may just be that he isn't ready for everything we eat. He loves fruit (bananas, canned pears and peaches, applesauce, and strawberries), crackers, bread, baby food veggies, cream of wheat cereal, yogurt, and cheese.

*He recognizes the Goldfish bag and stands by the cabinet if it is left open and whines until I give him some.

*He was weaned at the beginning of Nov when he was 13 months. He took longer than G did so it threw me for a loop. It was a two steps forward, one step back process for a few weeks and then one night we just stopped and haven't looked back. I really enjoy my new freedom and have been able to take advantage of it!!

*At his well check-up he weighed 23 pounds 9 ounces and was 31 1/2 inches. In the first 6 months of his life he gained 10 pounds 7 ounces and in the second 6 months he gained almost 3 pounds. I guess that explains why he has been wearing the same size diaper for 6+ months!

*He and Graham play together more now and sibling rivalry is in full swing.

*He LOVES to go outside and brings us his shoes all the time.

*He enjoys turning the bedroom tv on and off, flipping the power strip switch on the computer, and running out into the road. All of these are no no's of course and he loves the reaction he gets, so we're working on understanding that no no's are things we don't do.
